20181025 13th TPE technology institute open seminar

13th TPE technology institute open seminar

At this public seminar meeting we covered the latest topics related to TPE technology as  follows:

Professor Hiroshi Jinnai, a famous electron microscope field.

Ms. Watanabe from Bridgestone handling natural rubber used in the tire industry.

Mr.Takeo Yasuda for the latest trends in plastic materials for automobiles.

We appreciate your participation so that we can participate.

Address   152-8550    Ookayama 2-12-1, MeguroKu, Tokyo

Fee: member and press free, none member:¥10,000-

12:30-  reception

13:00-13:10 greeting     Dr.Toshio Nishi   President of RANSP

13:10-14:30 "Recent Developments in Soft Materials Electron Microscopy"

Tohoku University    Dr. Hiroshi Jinnai

Abstract:After the turn of the century, electron microscopy experienced revolutionary change from 2D to 3D imaging by the introduction of electron tomography. Recently, this trend is still on going to realize new optics for contrast enhancement, low-dose observation etc.. In this talk, we will introduce those new developments for soft materials nano-scale structural observations.

BIO:Dr. Hiroshi Jinnai is a Professor of the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials (IMRAM), Tohoku University. He received his D. Eng. in 1993 from Kyoto University, Japan. In 1993, he joined the Japan Science & Technology Agency (JST) ERATO (Exploratory Research for Advanced Technology) program, Hashimoto Polymer Phasing Project (as a group leader). He was appointed Lecturer at the Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering of Kyoto Institute of Technology in 1998 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2002. In 2011, He moved to another ERATO program, Takahara Soft Interfaces Project, as a research manager. He was concurrently a Research Professor at the Institute of Materials Chemistry and Engineering (IMCE), Kyushu University. Since 2015, he moved to Tohoku University.

14:30-14:45 Break

14:45-15:25  "Production of Natural Rubber and Biotechnology"

  Bridgestone Cop.     Akie Watanabe

Abstract: Natural rubberNRproduced by para rubber tree is an important raw material consumed annually of 12 million tons, about of which 70% is used in the tire industry. Since the demand of NR is expected to increase with the development of motorization in emerging countries, new research applying biotechnology is in progress to improve productivity.

BIO:Joined Bridgestone in 1981

Engaged in material development, analytical research, R&D planning.

Engaged in natural rubber research since 2000.

(Promoting international collaborative research with Indonesia  2002 - 2012 at NEDO Project)

2006-2016  Section manager and general manager of NR research Dept.

2016-       Fellow (General Manager)
