Abstract:After the turn of the century, electron microscopy experienced revolutionary change from 2D to 3D imaging by the introduction of electron tomography. Recently, this trend is still on going to realize new optics for contrast enhancement, low-dose observation etc.. In this talk, we will introduce those new developments for soft materials nano-scale structural observations.

BIO:Dr. Hiroshi Jinnai is a Professor of the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials (IMRAM), Tohoku University. He received his D. Eng. in 1993 from Kyoto University, Japan. In 1993, he joined the Japan Science & Technology Agency (JST) ERATO (Exploratory Research for Advanced Technology) program, Hashimoto Polymer Phasing Project (as a group leader). He was appointed Lecturer at the Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering of Kyoto Institute of Technology in 1998 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2002. In 2011, He moved to another ERATO program, Takahara Soft Interfaces Project, as a research manager. He was concurrently a Research Professor at the Institute of Materials Chemistry and Engineering (IMCE), Kyushu University. Since 2015, he moved to Tohoku University.

Abstract: Natural rubberNRproduced by para rubber tree is an important raw material consumed annually of 12 million tons, about of which 70% is used in the tire industry. Since the demand of NR is expected to increase with the development of motorization in emerging countries, new research applying biotechnology is in progress to improve productivity.

今回の公開講演会では電子顕微鏡の分野で著名な陣内浩司先生を始め、タイヤ産業で利用される天然ゴムを手 がけるブリヂストンから渡辺訓江様、また自動車用プラスチック材料の最新動向にお詳しい安田武夫様など、 TPE技術に関連する最新の話題を取り上げました。奮ってご参加頂けますようお願い申し上げます。

要旨:21世紀に入ってから、電子顕微鏡技術は透過像から立体像への移行など、大きな変革を経験してきた。近 年、ソフトマテリアルのナノ観察に重要なコントラスト増強、低電子線量での観察技術など、ソフトマテリアル のナノ観察に重要な技術の萌芽が見られる。本講演では、講演者の実験結果も踏まえて、最近の電子顕微鏡技術 の進歩について概説する。

要旨:パラゴムノキが産出する天然ゴムは、年間1200万トンが生産、消費される重要な工業原料であり、70%以 上がタイヤ産業で利用される。新興国におけるモータリゼーションの発展に伴い天然ゴムの需要増加が予想さ れるため、生産性の向上を目的にバイオテクノロジーを応用した新たな研究も進んでいる。

略歴:

1981年 ブリヂストンタイヤ()入社 材料開発、分析研究、研究開発企画を担当

2000年から、天然ゴム研究に従事。

2002‐2012年、NEDOプロジェクトでインドネシアとの共同研究を推進)

The 17th Nanostructured Polymer Exchange Meeting

At the Nanostructured Polymer Study Group, we hold a one night two-day training camp every year.
This fiscal year, as an exchange party of the Nanostructured Polymer Study Group, the first day will be held at Furukawa Electric Industry Co., Ltd. Yokohama Plant Open Laboratory (FunLab). We will conduct tours and 2 lectures on polymer based technology and advanced analysis technology at Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. At the accommodation, we will hold a social gathering (self-introduction, free discussion). On the second day, we will hold a tour of Teijin's "Future Studio". Future studio will see a showroom aiming to lead to future product creation through joint development with the Teijin Group. This is the place that made the concept that the final product can be realized by hand so that the social contribution of material manufacturers can be understood. Thanks to the participation of many people, we hope that the nanostructured polymer research group will be more active. Title:Functional and Ultra-fine Surface Design by Biomimetics and Informatics

Dr. Akihiro Miyauchi

Tokyo Medical and Dental University

Abstract: Informatics is rapidly progressing and has a great influence on various activities of mankind.  It is known as a material informatics, that is, inductive computational science in the materials research field. On the other hand, organisms are in their present forms after undergoing enormous trial and error in the process of evolution, which can be said to be the inductive results. In this lecture, informatics and biomimetics are overlooked from the viewpoint of functionalization of material surface.

BIO:

Dr. Akihiro Miyauchi is a nanotechnology researcher currently working as Professor at Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He is an experienced researcher in semiconductor process and simulation, nanoimprint, and biomimetics. He studied a theoretical physics of condensed matter in bachelor course, plasma CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) process of amorphous silicon in Master course, and low-temperature silicon epitaxy in Doctor course. He was a visiting scientist at MIT in 1995 -1996. 

Dr. Miyauchi research and develop the high-speed IC for optical communication using selective CVD process, patterned media of hard disk, cell cultivation for regenerative medical and fuel cell using methanol by nanoimprint. Recently he researches on biomimetics for fluid control and anti-biofouling using informatics. He was a leader of four national projects on nanoimprint and biomimetics. Dr. Miyauchi was a Chief Researcher of Hitachi Ltd. for 10 years and leader of the nanoimprint and biomimetics group. 

 Dr. Miyauchi has extensive experience in a lot of scientific communities, such as a session chair of International Microprocesses and Nanotechnology Conference, a member of International Conference on Nanoimprint, and related domestic groups in Applied Physics, the Society of Polymer Science and the Society of Nano Science and Technology. He has also been an expert advisor of Ministry of Education and NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization).
